OpenVPN Connect, the “official” OpenVPN Inc. app is openvpnandroid.com/virtual-data-room-reviews-that-ensure-successful-spac-process/ designed to be user-friendly for VPN users with no technical expertise. It’s also less equipped than the openvpn for android which is geared towards more advanced OpenVPN users.
Openvpn for Android is a free open-source client developed by Arne Schwarzbe, allows users to connect to any VPN service that supports OpenVPN protocol. If your device doesn’t support the pre-configured VPN applications available on the Google Play Store, this is an excellent alternative. The setup process is fairly straightforward. You just need to import your VPN profile files (the configuration files have an extension of.ovpn) which you can obtain from your provider’s website or by calling their live chat support team.
When you’ve imported a profile, simply tap on one of the servers in the list for that server to connect to it. Once connected to the server, your Internet traffic will be directed through a secure tunnel to the server that you have selected in the app. The Status tab allows you to check your connection’s details and the status of your connection. The kill switch is enabled by default. It will disable your internet connection if the VPN tunnel drops.
The app also has per-app VPN as well as an all-day-long feature that automatically begins a VPN connection when the app is in use and continues to run even after your device is shut down or switches networks. However, this feature requires Android 7.0 or higher and can draw more power from your battery than usual.
